Recurrent featuree Dizzy has been a favourite of ours from the very start. Whether that’s the fantastic album, Baby Teeth, or the following Heavy EP from which we absolutely loved ‘Twist’. We know all too well how important music has become as a lifeline throughout the pandemic, for both listeners and musicians alike. We’re certainly taking solace in the promise of new songs from Dizzy, one of which is ‘The Magician’. As ever, it’s typified by the Canadian band’s wistfully dream-pop textures complemented by a video filmed by singer Katie Munshaw, filmed deep from within isolation. The intimacy of the visuals draw greater focus to the deeply personal lyrics of ‘The Magician’; a narrative which is brightened by the band’s buoyant melodies.
